Blaze Makeup Course

Blaze Makeup Course

As many of you may know, I have found a new love for "Instagram". I have it on my iPad, which means that I can use my beautiful Canon SLR and then edit them with the Apple App. These pictures are all examples of the use of this app and as you can see, I love it.

Recently I went on a 'Blaze Hair and Make up Course' in Norwich after purchasing a Groupon voucher from the Internet. I went to a Best Western Hotel on a Sunday morning and set up my things for a day of all things girly. We were taught by a lovely (and might I add, Stunning) girl called Lauren who was from Cambridge and she had a whole world of experience, from London Fashion Week to celebrity events and television programs.
We were previously asked to bring all the make up that we use at home, whether its for in the day time or for nights out. I brought a whole box full and found that by the end of the day, half of the make up was either too dark or too thick for my skin tone and texture. Lauren started with simple day time looks (as shown when I recreated the look below) and then moved onto more seductive and interesting night time looks such as smoky eyes or daring lip colours. I was most interested by the day time looks as I was always wearing colours wrong for me and found out that the real colour you should wear is matched to the colour on your chest....interesting, right?

I am now using L'Oreal's True Match Foundation along with Mac concealer (as shown in a previous post). These two together compliment my skin so well and make me feel like I have a more natural glow when I apply them, especially when I add some Body Shop bronzer and blusher combination on top. Then when doing my eyes, I have taken away the harsh black eye liner that I used to wear and instead replaced it with some natural colours such as browns and creams and apply one thick layer of Mascara to lengthen my lashes. The eyeshadow makes my eyes stand out much more, especially with my big blue eyes. When I try the night time looks I will take a picture and blog about that then; also in regard to the hair styles...I have recently had a fringe cut in so that was as adventurous as my hair styles get now. Below I have shown you a selection of pictures from the day and how many pages and pages of notes I made which are still very handing when trying new looks. We also received a goodie bag at the end of the day with eyelashes, eyeliner, lip gloss, nail varnish and eye shadow that are all great for your make up bag top ups.

Overall the day was really good and I would definitely recommend going on the courses if you get the chance. This is a lot more than I would normally write for a blog post, but I feel like I should share my new found wisdom taught to me by the lovely Lauren. Each morning when I put on my makeup, I feel a lot more confident about the way I am applying my makeup, how to use the brushes I have bought and how much easier it is to use simple makeup as less is in fact more.
