Olympics

With the Olympics finishing and the Paralympics beginning, I thought I should post about my amazing day at the Olympics earlier in the month. I went with my parents and Grannie and had the most incredible day, a day which would make any Brit feel proud for their team! We split into pairs and went to see the Handball and Waterpolo, and luckily enough for me, I was watching the Spanish and Australian Waterpolo men in very minimal clothing fighting to get into the next round. We had a very early start and a long journey to get to the Olympic Park, but we were pleasantly surprised by the speed and ability of the armed forces and Olympic volunteers who helped us through to the park. Obviously there was a huge drama over the security company previously supplying staff for the Olympics; but as I'm sure anyone else who has been to the Olympics would agree, the way security was dealt with by the armed forces was outstanding and everyone seemed thrilled to be able to speak to the brave men and women who fight to protect our country. The day was filled with enthusiastic volunteers, cheerful staff and generally a really enjoyable day because of the atmosphere provided by everyone within the Olympic Park. After our events, we all met to have some lunch and went to sit on the huge Olympic Park hill to watch the rest of the events in which Team GB were part of. We watched women's Judo achieve silver, Bradley Wiggins achieve yet more medals and the cyclists and rowers helping to contribute to the overall success of Team GB.
We have been trying our hardest to get tickets to watch the Paralympics but have been unsuccessful, but I am not in the slightest bit surprised as after the amazing result of our team and the huge buzz created from the Olympic Park, I'm sure everyone in the world has been eagerly trying to get tickets to see our next great team achieve amazing things once more.
